Quote: "Whose was that tear? Mine? His? I said nothing. Nor did he. We had never understood one another so clearly" ( Wiesel 75).
Analysis: I think this quote shows how Elie and his father are on the same page. They understand by looking at eachother that they are both hurting. Actions speak louder than words in this quote. I think not saying anything really said alot at this moment. Instead of saying that they are okay when they are clearly not, they were able to actually see eachother hurt which made the moment real. Through all of the tragedy, they actually grow closer together, much closer than before.
Quote: "I shall always remember that smile. From which world did it come?"
Analysis: In this quote Elie and his dad are resting, Elie's father looks around and smiles. I think it is memorable for Elie because during all of this pain and suffering, his dad was able to show some sign of being happy. I think it was about being thankful that they are still alive and still together. They are both scared but I think he may have been trying to stay strong for Elie.

Good job, your analyses are long and in depth.
