Section 3 quote and analysis

Quote: "You must never lose faith, even when the sword hangs over your head. That's the teachings of our sages...." (Wiesel 40)

Analysis: I think this quote is really powerful. It shows the Jews strength and devotion to their religion. This quote means that you must keep faith when the worst comes. Even when the Jews were in the concentration camps they said prayers and gave thank to being alive. This quote reveals the personal strength the Jews had. This quote may reveal a theme for the book which is, keep your faith even when your life is in someone elses hands.

Quote: " Are you mad? We've been told to stay standing. Do you want to bring trouble on us all?"

Analysis: This quote shows how the Jews had completely lost freedom, and how they are being kept as prisoners. It shows that they feel they have no control anymore, they have lost all their rights. The Germans have taken so much from them at this point, they are in constant fear.

Your second quote lacks citation, but otherwise they look pretty good. You really go in depth with your quotes.

nice job with the analysis and the citation in the first quote but i believe that the second quote would be better if it had a citation and you could do a little more in depth in the second quote but over all great job!!!
